Statistician internship

Location: London, UK

Application deadline: 15th March 2020 (candidates considered on a rolling basis)

Symmetron is a health economics and outcomes research consultancy with over a decade of experience in evidence generation, decision-analytic modelling and statistical analysis in economic evaluations. We are made up of a team of enthusiastic healthcare researchers based in the UK and South Africa. Our experience involves the design, development and communication of solutions for major pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers, both at a global and regional level. We promote a culture of creativity, independent thinking, team-work and scientific excellence.

To support growing demand, we are looking for a Statistician Intern to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply different statistical techniques to a variety of projects. For example, interns may use advanced regression techniques to model patient outcomes using clinical trial data or real-world evidence. Interns may also gain exposure of hierarchical Bayesian modelling techniques that can be applied to model patient survival or to assess relative treatment efficacy. Interns also have the opportunity to develop their coding skills – projects are often completed using R, Stata, VBA and WinBUGS.

The duration of the internship is 3 months with a monthly stipend. If successful, there is the potential for the internship to develop into a permanent role. We are committed to the development of our interns and offer excellent training and career development opportunities, including personalised training sessions with an experienced statistician.
