Oliver Pople, MSc

Oliver is a Health Economics Analyst. He joined Symmetron in October 2022 following his summer internship,  where he worked alongside the consultancy to complete his dissertation for an MSc in Health Economics and Decision Modelling from the University of Sheffield.  The project culminated with a de-novo economic model, which assessed the cost-effectiveness of four CGRP antagonists for patients with chronic migraine.

Throughout his Masters, Oliver gained valuable skills in R-Studio, Stata, Microsoft Excel and simul8, relishing the challenge of evaluating medical interventions through modelling. He has experience in systematic reviews, quantitative methods and survival modelling, but has found particular interest in state-transition models and patient-level simulations. This stemmed from his strong grounding in critical evaluation and statistical analysis from his BSc in Economics (also from the University of Sheffield), where he attained a wide understanding of economic theory and its applications.
